I saw this on an F1 site, it really points to how dominant Ferrari and Michael were, some of it was of course at Benetton at the start but the rest was at Ferrari.

We’ve just reached an interesting milestone on the statistics front. Combined, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel’s 91 race wins equal Michael Schumacher’s total number of victories in F1. Also, between them, Hamilton and Vettel have 7 world titles, which is exactly the number of crowns won by Schumacher. Comparatively, it only took Michael 306 race starts to achieve his incredible record, while Hamilton and Vettel have 348 races under their belt.

So Seb and Hammy equal a Schumi right now haha, but he took a lot less time individually to get his record. Of course we know the massive program Ferrari was running at the time, practically around the clock, and the rules and different tires. Schu sometimes had new tires while forever #2 Rubens didn’t. Just an interesting point we are at and fun to see why.

Yeah, those Shumacher records are really something.

Every time I hear that a driver has surpassed an older record (wins, poles, podiums, etc... ) I look up to see the list and see that they are now in third place in the record book, and are close to becoming second.

Then I see Shumacher’s number and I think to myself. “Can anyone else get 91 wins?”

Schumi won 29.7% of the races he entered. Let’s just round that to a nice even 30%.

3 out of every ten races folks. 3 out of ten.

Damn. Didn’t he come back after a couple years off? So really, during his prime, he won at a rate that is higher than 3 in 10.

I’d love for Lewis to get there, but he would need a longer period of dominance.

He'd also need a subservient teammate, and #1 treatment from the team.

Yeah, he came back with Merc but never won so that just increased start numbers.

Yeah there were so many factors funneling Schu the wins, it was all set up that way. With equal treatment, less testing and tires equalized, I doubt it could ever be done again.

He had a lot of help, for someone to get that now, maybe Verstappen if he gets with the right teams and stays til the age Rubens did! It’s crazy that Seb and Hammy who have had dominant periods and were with good teams are not even close yet.
